Wedding at Bush Hotel, Carrick on Shannon

Alan and Samantha

The wedding of Alan and Samantha was lovely, yet bittersweet. It was a special ceremony as it included the baptism of their baby girl Arianna.

Getting ready for the D-Day

Samantha went for heavy eye makeup, while going nude on the cheeks and lips, which suited her complexion well. Her loose curls cascaded around her shoulders and the bouffant was held in place with a gorgeous hair accessory. My favorite moments are her pictures with Arianna before she changed into a beautiful white gown. Alan wore a three-piece grey suit, and looked smart and dashing. The groom and best man socks were a fun touch!

…on to the ceremony

It was nice to see there wasn’t any nervousness as the bride drank a glass of bubbly, while the groom downed some beer with friends before they walked down the aisle. It was an Irish wedding held at Cootehall Church. Being a wedding photographer, I always look forward to the moment when the groom waits for the bride at the altar and how his eyes light up on catching the very first glimpse. Soon the beaming couple was declared husband and wife, but there was more to come, as the ceremony included a christening as well. Arianna wasn’t the least bit fussy, which allowed me to take some quick, yet adorable snapshots of daddy holding her while she was being baptized.

Finally – man and wife!

We moved on to the official photo shoot, the venue of which was Lough Meelagh in County Roscommon. Alan and Samantha weren’t keen on an elaborate session – they wanted it to be informal and amidst a natural backdrop. I clicked some excellent pictures on the pier – the scenery was impressive to say the least.  The reception was hosted at the Bush Hotel in Carrick on Shannon. The colors were mostly purple and white, which looked extremely elegant. The couple made a grand entrance and was cheered on by family and friends.

Being a Sligo photographer, I must say it was a glorious day, and wish Alan and Samantha all the best for the wonderful journey ahead. If you like my work, please get in touch with me via phone or email.
